Full Moon in Taurus

Taking the slow, steady path to security

The monthly Full Moon is believed to unleash hidden passions and ignite strong emotions — after all, the Moon rules our innermost selves! But the general mood of the Moon has a lot to do with what zodiac sign it happens to be in … and with Taurus’ grounded influence, this Full Moon is one of the more stable cosmic events happening now!

Steady goes the Bull sign: Taurus likes focus and order, and finds happiness with simple (often sensual) delights, like good food and creature comforts. So the potent Full Moon in Taurus emphasizes this Earth sign’s talent for “cutting out fat” in your life to hone in on a single goal and enjoy the rest of your day with fewer distractions.

At the same time, Taurus can be materialistic (it’s easy to live simply when all your needs are being met!), so this sign needs the sense of safety that comes from knowing that there’s money in the bank and the fridge is well-stocked. Because of this, the Full Moon will push us to consider whether we’re secure in our finances and employment, and whether we can maintain the lifestyle we want.

The questions “Do I have what I need?” and “Do I feel safe?” hang heavy in the air now, because the Taurus Full Moon faces off with the illuminating Sun in Scorpio. Scorpio likes to look at the shadowy dark side of any situation, so we might find ourselves fearing that we don’t have enough. Throw in a harsh angle with warrior planet Mars in the sign of self-focused Leo, and you might become cutthroat when it comes to making sure your job is safe (meaning, you might become competitive in the workplace and crave attention, even if that’s not normally like you).

But because the emotional Moon is so powerful, realize that underneath all these confusing feelings is a need to be accepted — in every area of your life — and have both the material and emotional support you need to feel steady like the Bull. If you feel like you’re coming up short, the Full Moon is also the perfect time to make the necessary adjustments you need to excel. Be patient with yourself: Taurus is known for ultimately winning the race — but at its own pace!
