The Urantia Book – Reveals Mysteries of God, the Universe and Ourselves

The Seven Universes

A good friend of mine, who is older and much wiser than I, recently brought forth to my attention, a 70+ year old book of essays called, “The Urantia Book”. He has been studying these papers for many years and wanted to share them with me. So far, I have been blown away by the content within these pages.

Since the book is over 70 years old, you can actually download The Urantia Book for free since it is in the public domain now… there are also many great audio readings out there. Since this book has over 2000 pages, my preferred method of digestion of these texts is to read along while listening to the audio of the books. This helps me gather the messages more thoroughly, as the material is quite heady.

What is The Urantia Book?

The Urantia Book is not a complete religion. It does not have a clergy, a creed that one is required to believe in, or rules of behavior that one must follow. It is a book which has spawned two organizations, now called the Urantia Foundation and the Urantia Fellowship. The book is used by individuals of many religions as a spiritual guide.

The Urantia Book is

for people interested in life
for people who want something more than mere religion
for people who would like to discover their highest spiritual and personal potentials.

The book states that Urantia is an ancient name for the planet earth. It is a large book with over two thousand pages and almost 200 individual essays that reveal information about:

God,
other supernatural beings
the history of earth and of the rest of the universe
the development of humanity
the history, message and purpose of Yeshua of Nazareth, (a.k.a. Jesus Christ)

Why You Need to Know About The Urantia Book

Making good life decisions—the exercise of true wisdom—requires insight into the context in which the decision or choice is being made.

The Urantia Book provides a comprehensive overview of the context in which we live our daily lives — historical, social, personal, intellectual, spiritual, and material. It provides important background information that will deepen, enrich, and strengthen your relationship with God, empower you to prevail in your struggles with the difficulties of daily life, and enable you to participate creatively in the much-needed spiritual transformation of our world.

By integrating science, philosophy, and religion into a coherent world view, the Urantia Book enhances the meanings we derive from our life experience, equipping us to live our lives relative to positive, creative spiritual values in the midst of difficulty, chaos, and uncertainty.

I have just begun the journey of pouring through the 2100+ pages of The Urantia Book. In fact, I had been reading a PDF and listening to the audios, but last night, I picked up an actual copy of the book and listened to the foreward and read along. It appears that we have a long journey ahead of us as spiritual beings and I look forward to exploring all this universe has to offer.

Daily Affirmative Prayer – I Am Filled

“No longer will I go for my good, carrying only a dipper to be filled. This day, I turn to the Power within, I bring “all the empty vessels” knowing they will be filled, and my abundance will become manifest.” Ernest Holmes

Spirit always IS; therefore I know I must BE. As an individualized manifestation of all that is how could I not be? I know my breath is the breath of God. My heart beats in unison with the one heart. When I look out through the eyes of God I see God looking back at me. When I listen I hear the voice, the songs, the symphony of God all around me. I know that the power and presence of God is always within me.

Today I know that any obstructions in my life are simply made manifest from beliefs that keep me separate. I choose to take those spots that are separate and allow the essence that is God to fill up those empty areas with feelings of absolute connection. I consciously release my fears, my doubts and firmly plant my beliefs in faith knowing there is only One Infinite Source.

I know that life is filled with grace and ease and flow when I live from a place of love and peace and patience. I know that I choose my thoughts, ideas and feelings which then manifest into my life as my reality. I am awake and aware of my connection to Source and choose knowing God is my only supply. I know that fear is only an obstruction that stands between me and my good. I am grateful for knowing that God is therefore I am. I release these words into the law knowing it is already so. I let go and I let God and so it is.

Yoga for a Good Night’s Sleep

A Good Night’s Sleep the Natural Way

Yoga before bed, can help you sleep well!

Problems with sleep can have various origins. Whether your stressed out, or just still wound up from your day, the consequences are the same. Without a good night’s sleep, your energy levels are drained and you’re just not yourself. Before you take potentially addicting sleeping pills, settle your mind and body naturally with the following routine. It only takes about 10 minutes, and it doesn’t require any previous knowledge of Yoga. This set, which comes from the ancient technology of Kundalini Yoga, will provide benefits to your nervous system and digestion as well as helping you gets a great night’s sleep.

As with any exercise, precaution should be taken if you are dealing with any serious illness or medication. Listen to your body and stop if you begin to feel discomfort. If sleeping problems persist, always see your doctor.

First, kneel down and sit on your heels. If this is uncomfortable for you, you can sit on the floor between your heels. If this too is not comfortable, you can sit in a cross legged position. Keep your spine straight and lay your hands in your lap. Close your eyes and breathe deeply. Stay here for about a minute and try to let go of any thoughts, especially any worries or thoughts from your day.

In the same position, keeping your spine straight, lean back about 30 degrees. Use your abdominal muscles to keep you balanced. Breathe long and deep in this position for about a minute.

Keeping the same seated position, cross your arms, holding on to opposite elbows. Start to slowly circle your torso in a clockwise direction. Close your eyes and make the largest circles possible without loosing your balance. Continue circling and breathing deeply for one to three minutes.

How Many Chakras are there? 12 Chakras? 7 Chakras?

Are there 7 Chakras?

It is common mainstream knowledge that there are 7 energy chakras. We know them as: the root chakra [red] at the base of your torso; the sacral chakra [orange] around your pubic area; the solar plexus chakra [yellow] around your belly button; the heart chakra [green] around your heart; the throat chakra [blue] in the middle of your throat; the third-eye chakra [indigo] in the middle above your eyebrows; and the crown chakra [violet] at the top of your head.

However, if you do some research about the chakra system, you will find various other beliefs on the amount of chakras. I was watching a Quantum Touch DVD workshop last night, and Richard Gordon, the founder of Quantum Touch, went on talking about an eighth chakra about 8-10 inches below the feet. He also described the 9th, 10th, 11th & 12th chakras as being located above the head each 8-10 inches above the other.

So, I did some research online, and haven’t found any other information about that particular lineup of chakras. However, I have found many pieces of information pertaining to there being 12 chakras. Here is an 8 page PDF document describing the 12 chakra system which has a lot of great information.

I am going to continue to do some research on this to figure this out. If you are an expert on this topic, we’d love to hear your comments or have your write an article about this.

As a final thought. Here are some Affirmations for each of the original 7 chakras found via AmidAngels.com. Enjoy growing your energy field and exploring your natural power!

ROOT/BASE CHAKRA [Red] Earth, physical identity, “I am”
1. I live and am connected to life in all it’s glory.

The Shaman’s Heart

On One Consciousness, you will notice that we are NOT ad-supported. I intend to not advertise on this site, as this is not a money making venture, per se. Down the road we may do certain things to raise money and awareness for various causes, but this will never be a for-profit venture. One thing that we will begin doing, is to showcase lightworkers, spiritual service providers and consciousness raising products and doing reviews on these services and making recommendations.

The first one that I want to talk about is “The Shaman’s Heart Program” by Byron Metcalf. This is a Native American audio program mixed with the Monroe Institutes “Hemi-Sync”. This is a tremendous program that I am currently listening to. It helps us keep in touch with the elements of earth, water, air, fire and the spirit realm with in our heart.

The Shaman’s Heart is ethno-tribal music that is not only breathtaking, but will also induce an altered state of consciousness using Hemi-Sync technology. In this very powerful shamanic composition, Metcalf uses buffalo drums, rattles, udu, clay pots, seed pods, nature sounds, etc. It is very much like going on a mystical trip into a rainforest. I did not know what to expect when I first listened to it (use headphones!), but I can now say that it is incredibly effective and powerful.

The chakra meditation is the most powerful exercise that I have ever done. He literally has our heart beating with the drums and our chakras pulsing energy with each big bass drum. With the shaman, it all begins with an open heart… and this program is sure to help you open your heart center.

Origins of the Pachakuti Mesa

Across the world shamanic traditions have flourished and persevered in times that have been favorable to them and also those during which their existence was deeply threatened. Yet, in spite of attempted eradication and the wider prevalence of cultural amnesia, many practices of this global lineage have survived – often greatly transformed through their adaptation to the shifting sands of culture.

Despite changes in appearance and the frequent adoption of aspects of the “new” religions and belief-systems that have accompanied the transformation from hunter/gatherer, pastoral, and subsistence cultures to agricultural and urban life-styles, core shamanic beliefs and practices continue to sustain people throughout the global ecosphere.

Within the Peruvian Andes and coast the synthesis of millenia-old shamanic practice and modern religious belief is found in both the traditions of the paqokuna and huachuma curanderismo. These traditions have, to varying degrees, incorporated elements of folk Catholic belief, cosmology, ritual, and liturgy. While this certainly ensured survival in a changing and persecutorial environment it also points to the wisdom of recognizing the inner syncretic nature of the shamanic universe as a principle of action.

The salient feature of both the highland paqokuna and coastal curandero traditions is their focus on the ritual and ceremonial mastery of the mesa. In each case the mesa is an altar-like collection of shamanically invested artifacts arranged according to the teachings of the lineage and the personal insight of the healer. Though somewhat different in form, both traditions engage the culturally acknowledged powers of the natural and ancestral worlds through the mediating instrument of the mesa.

Through propitiatory ritual and invocational ceremony, states of contact are reached with these powers in which balance, health, prosperity, and fertility are restored within the community. [click to continue…]

How to Talk To God

If you’re not relating with God at the level you’d like, or if you’re just plain “stuck” when it comes to praying, below are some suggestions you may want to consider. If you wish, you can incorporate one of these suggestions into your current prayer practice, or you can use one or more of the suggestions to help you begin talking with God if you haven’t already done so.

Here are a few suggestions to help you talk with God and deepen your relationship.

* Begin with gratitude. Tell the Divine about those things in your life you’re really grateful for.
* Express yourself wholly and fully to the Divine. Don’t leave anything out. Hint: If you feel you need to keep something from God, that’s a great item to tell God. Don’t worry, you won’t be hit by lightning; God already knows anyway, but just wants to hear it from you!
* Be highly communicative. In other words, don’t say to God, “I’m mad.” Tell God how you got so mad, how you feel about being so mad, what your anger makes you want to do, etc. And if you’re mad at God, be sure to mention that little tidbit as well.
* Listen closely. Allow the Divine to reveal itself to you. Put yourself aside for a few minutes and just allow yourself to be fully absorbed with God. Learn more about God, like you would when forming a new friendship with another person. (I have to laugh, because in my first draft of this article I accidentally typed “unlearn” instead of “learn.” I think there may be merit in that typo. As a child, what did you learn about God that keeps you feeling distant from the Divine? Be open to “unlearn” childhood beliefs that no longer make sense today.)
* Allow for spontaneity in how you pray and talk to God. What feels good one day may not be your best choice the next day.
* Bring all of you into your conversations with God, not just your mind and your thoughts.
* Pray in a way that you enjoy the time you spend with God.

And here are just a few more thoughts from me to you about prayer:

* Your prayers and the way you pray do not have to comply with the wishes or expectations of others.
* Choose or create “prayers” that help you feel one with–or at least closer to–the Divine, not prayers that inflict more feelings of separation between you, the Divine, and your own inner Divinity.
* Prayers that come spontaneously from the heart are wonderful and every bit as valuable as carefully crafted prayers, including those written by others/”experts.”

In summary, prayer does not have to be hard; it can be a very natural process. Prayer is simply the process of letting God get to know you better, while you get to know God better.

Remember, God wants to be with you. You are not a bother–no matter what you choose to talk about. No subject is off-limits. Interact with the Divine frequently, and trust your relationship will grow and unfold naturally. Expect to hear/see/experience God in your life. Expect it as the norm, not the exception.

And above all, remember that anybody can talk to God. There is no reason for you to feel you can’t. No matter what “you’ve done” or “not done,” God is still there for you!
